I grew up in Minnesota, always gravitating towards art, but also loving math. I told people growing up I'd love to either be an Art or Math Teacher. [This shows you my love for dichotomy and balance].
I was yearbook editor in chief in high school, and always loved fashion magazines, which led to my realization that I could study graphic design [and it might just allow me to one day work for Vogue -- my dream!!!].
I moved to NYC after getting my degree at U of M - Twin Cities and working for a year at an engine remanufacturing plant as their designer. I did talk to an editor at Vogue and was super disappointed realizing that was not my dream anymore.
I began working for Twillory Men's Apparel in NY and eventually invented the HUUG Bra (www.huug.com). I left the company after 5 years and battling lots of physical and mental health issues throughout those years.
In my free time, I found my greatest joys in music and fashion, so I poured myself into making and experiencing as much of it as possible. It is my greatest joy and makes my soul feels alive. Now, I hope to do that full time. :)
"Soul's Mark began with a desire to make more art with my hands and take the time to step away from the digital world. I now aim to merge the two."
A creative intuitive girl with lots of ideas! I love to make and create because it connects me to God. I'm very spiritual with a strong faith. I combine my connection to the spirit world with the teachings of the Bible. I love nuns, which is why I sometimes spell my name "Abbey," like the church. :-)
The Soul's Mark name came from the desire to leave my soul's "mark or imprint" on the world through my creations. A friend in Ibiza named Mark helped me come up with this name after we saw a rainbow sitting in San Antonio in 2023. The name could also reference the sole of a shoe leaving it's mark as it walks, as I am obsessed with shoes.
Humans were made to create, and especially with our bare hands. I have a deep appreciation for technology as well, but getting back to sewing and knitting with a needle and thread/yarn, or painting on canvas with my bare hands feels so important to me. I believe our souls communicate with God and all things around us through the things we make or do with our bodies.
As I make more with my hands, I learn that not everything has to be perfect, or look like it was made with a machine. There’s beauty in the imperfection. Or making a huge mess when you are in the stage of creation. I am constantly leaving scraps of thread everywhere I go or paint and marker marks on chairs, floors, even airplanes. It is almost comical at this point I can’t seem to create without leaving my mark on something around me. This is where the name of my business comes from — I am leaving my "Soul’s Mark" on the world.
I love color and music, and feel that it connects me to God and the spirit realm, or the heavenly state. I’ve been making art for so many years that I can pretty quickly get into what many call the “flow state” which is common amongst athletes as well. When I’m in this state, I can’t control with comes out of my body. God takes over and creates through me, and I’m often left kind of stunned by what I just made.
Now go make something! (Unless you’re exhausted then go sleep, hehe)
Of course I love to share/sell my art, and meet new people, but above all: I truly hope to inspire you to pick up a paint brush, teach yourself how to sew, or sing in the car. The more creativity we let into our lives, the more we connect to our inner wisdom, our inner child (aka our youth!) and to our connection with God, the Earth and all things in this universe.
What are my mediums?
I love trying new things! In my free time I paint, sew, knit, upcycle, draw, photograph, edit videos, learn softwares, produce music, sing, DJ, and create digital art prints. I LOVE LEARNING. And I love editorial design because it combines a lot of these hobbies into one cohesive story and art form.

I made this by taking inspiration from fashion magazines, but putting my own spin on it. I added art therapy activities, travel stories, lessons learned, outfits I made, ideas I had, doubts I had, other artists I met and concerts I went to.
I followed my inutitive nudges and God's whispers to Ibiza for 6 weeks in the summer of 2025. I vowed I would visit every year when I first visited in 2023 and have upheld that promise so far... it's always a big risk with limited funds.
Do it, you won't.
